Wong believes that now we get worse products because tech giants are obsessed with \u201ccompeting on AI\u201d instead of just providing good and useful products.<\/p>\n<p>Wong&#039;s comments echo those of former Google employee Scott Jenson, who criticized his former employer&#039;s failed attempts to win the AI race on LinkedIn on Monday. &quot;The vision is that there will be a Tony Stark-like Jarvis assistant on your phone that locks you into their ecosystem so that you never leave,&quot; he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>While established companies like Google and Meta have been trying to catch up to upstarts like OpenAI, having more money and resources hasn\u2019t given the tech giants the edge they were hoping for. In February, Google got into trouble when the image-generating function of its chatbot Gemini was accused of being \u201cwoke.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Faced with criticism on social media over claims that Google\u2019s AI continuously generated images of people of color in inaccurate historical context, Google suspended Gemini\u2019s image-generating feature on February 22. The company had acknowledged Gemini\u2019s missteps a day earlier, saying the chatbot \u201cgot off the mark.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Meta, their decision to roll out AI-powered chatbots on their social media platforms has drawn ridicule from users.
