Currently, approximately 60% of vacation packages are completed through online bookings, meaning customers use JourneyAI directly for trip design.

Jones explained: "Our AI must not only design pleasant routes, but also ensure that the journey has a certain ability to resist interference." In response to possible disruptions to multi-station land travel, JourneyAI has built in a flexible design that can quickly provide an alternative when the original plan is blocked。

Artificial Intelligence meets Human Services

While AI technology plays a key role in Byway's business, manual service still holds an important place. About 40% of sales come from human concierge services, where staff communicate with customers to design travel packages that meet individual needs.

“In many cases, technology has performed very well,” Jones said, “but there are indeed cases in which we need to be involved manually to improve the service.” The company has also set up the WhatsApp group for its clients to ensure that travellers are supported on their way。

The future of sustainable tourism

Byway's success is more than just a business story; it reflects an important trend in the travel industry.
