Apple emphasized that OpenELM was developed to contribute to the research community and to promote the development of open-source large-language models. Previously, Apple researchers described OpenEBM as \u201cthe most advanced open-language model\u201d\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Apple indicates that OpenELM is used only for research purposes and does not support any Apple Intelligence function. The model is published as an open source and is available on the Apple Machine Learning Research website. This means that the YouTube data set is not used to support Apple Intelligence. Apple had previously stated that the Apple Intelligence model was \u201ctrained in authorized data, including data selected for specific functions and open data collected through web reptiles\u201d\u3002<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting that Apple does not currently have plans to develop a new version of OpenELM. In addition to apples, companies such as Anthropic and NVIDIA used the YouTube subtitle data set to train their AI models. The data set is part of the non-profit organization EleutherAI's large data set The Pile\u3002<\/p>\n<p>This incident has sparked a discussion about the source of AI training data and its impact on privacy and copyright.
