The mini AI model is a derivative of GPT-4o, OpenAI\u2019s fastest and most powerful model, capable of processing audio, video, and text in 50 different languages.<\/p>\n

The \u201co\u201d in the model stands for omnipotent, and OpenAI plans to integrate images, videos, and audio into it in the future. GPT-4o Mini currently only processes images and text, and according to OpenAI, it will eventually support audio, video, and other content types.<\/p>\n

Now users can use GPT-4o Mini in OpenAI's programming toolkit. More importantly, itIt replaces GPT-3.5 Turbo for both free and paid ChatGPT clients, which also means providing the service for free to ChatGPT users.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to OpenAI's public test data, GPT-4o mini has excellent mathematical, coding, visual and other reasoning capabilities, and is one of the strongest multimodal small models currently available.<\/p>\n

For example, GPT-4o mini scored 82.0% on MMLU, 87.0% in the MGSM test for mathematics and coding, and 59.4% on the multimodal MMMU, all of which surpassed Gemini Flash and Anthropic's Claude Haiku.<\/p>\n

For developers, the new large language model costs about 60% less than GPT-3.5 Turbo, with GPT-4o mini costing 15 cents per million input tokens and GPT-3.5 Turbo costing 60 cents per million output tokens.<\/p>\n

OpenAI has grown with the support of investors worth more than $80 billion, while constantly working to maintain its leadership in the generative AI market and find ways to make money.<\/p>\n

Last year, OpenAI COO Brad Lightcap said: \u201cThe world is multimodal. If you think about how we as humans process and interact with the world, we see things, we hear things, we say things \u2014 there\u2019s a lot more to the world than just text. So for us, it always felt incomplete to have text and code be a single modality, to have a single interface to how powerful these models are and what they can do.\u201d<\/p>\n

GPT-4o mini, announced by OpenAI on Thursday, will be available to free users of ChatGPT, ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers, and will be available to ChatGPT Enterprise users next week.<\/p>\n
