And SoftBank is one of OpenAI's newest financial backers. This shift means that OpenAI will significantly reduce its support for<a href=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/en\/tag\/%e5%be%ae%e8%bd%af\" title=\"[View articles tagged with [Microsoft]]\" target=\"_blank\" >Microsoft<\/a>s dependence on Microsoft, which currently serves as OpenAI's largest shareholder and meets most of the company's computing needs.<\/p>\n<p>However, the shift won't happen overnight. OpenAI still plans to increase its spending in Microsoft data centers over the next few years. In the meantime, OpenAI's overall costs are expected to grow significantly. OpenAI is reportedly expected to burn through about $20 billion (note: currently about RMB 145.107 billion) in cash in 2027, which is much higher than the $5 billion it will spend in 2024.
