Yelp said it will continue to invest in its AI technology and deliver more features in the coming months. \u201cWe will continue to double down on new product updates that leverage our rich, trusted content to elevate moments of discovery and inspire more meaningful connections. In a blog post, Saldanha wrote that Yelp is rolling out AI-generated summaries for restaurants, food, and nightlife businesses. This feature, as the name suggests, uses the power of large language models to provide end consumers with a concise summary of what they can expect from a business.<\/p>\n

The feature works by using language models (details of which are being kept secret) and recent user reviews to highlight what a business is best known for \u2014 ambiance, service, amenities, value, or a popular dish. This information ultimately enables customers to overcome decision paralysis and find the right business for their needs at a glance. Saldanha confirmed that the feature is already available on iOS and is expected to roll out to Android and the web later this year.<\/p>\n

In addition to summaries, Yelp has also redesigned its homepage with AI to help businesses, especially those new to the platform, more easily connect with potential customers and grow their businesses. The company said the new homepage will use AI to showcase new businesses in the user community, paired with relevant photos and video content shared by other users. In addition, the company has also used AI to enhance its analysis and recommendation capabilities.
