This year's program of approximately 90 minutes includes a wide range of boldly conceived short films -- including Jacob Adler's Total Pixel Space, which won Best Film. The 9-minute, 28-second film explores how many images are possible in digital space and mathematically estimates the astronomical number. The film presents an impressive array of images, ranging from real life to complete fiction.<\/p>\n

Andrew Salter's \"Jailbird,\" depicting a chicken's experience of entering a British prison and participating in a joint rehabilitation program for humans and animals, took second place. Third place went to Ricardo Biavicencio's \"One,\" co-written with Edward Sage, about an interstellar journey set in the future.<\/p>\n

The ten shorts were selected as finalists from thousands of submissions and will continue to be screened next week in Los Angeles and Paris.<\/p>\n

When scoring, judges willFocus on how AI is used and how well<\/strong>The work is not entirely AI-generated, however. However, not all entries were generated entirely by AI. In an interview before the screening, Valenzuela said that they want to encourage creators to try and explore the possibilities of AI tools.<\/p>\n
