Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has said that Google has missed the boat in AI. In response, Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google's parent company Alphabet, has hit back with a deadly rebuke, pointing the finger at Microsoft's increasingly strained partnership with OpenAI: \"I'd be happy to compare Microsoft's own models with ours any day, any time, and they use somebody else's models. .\"<\/p>\n

However, according to documents obtained by Business Insider, Google is in the Scale AI<\/a> contractors who allegedly used ChatGPT<\/a> to train and improve Google's Bard (now renamed Google Gemini<\/a>) This means that Google may be utilizing competitors' technology to enhance its own products. The documents further reveal that the contractors took thousands of responses from ChatGPT and compared them to Bard's output. They used these responses to improve Bard's answers to at least the same level as ChatGPT.<\/p>\n

Previously, Nadella had claimed that OpenAI had a two-year lead in developing ChatGPT, which made it difficult for competitors such as Google's Gemini to catch up, and Scale AI's management admitted that OpenAI's chatbot was more engaging in terms of the format and content of its responses. Contractors were tasked with getting Bard to outperform the GPT-4, and if they gave responses that dwarfed ChatGPT, they were awarded 15%.<\/p>\n
