As reported by TechCrunch on June 19, Anysphere announced in a blog post on Monday that it is adding a new version of its popular AI Programming Tools<\/a> Cursor<\/a> A new monthly subscription program has been introduced at a price of $200 per month.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new program, called Ultra, has users on AI models such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google DeepMind and xAIThe amount available is 10 times the company's existing $20\/month Pro plan.<\/strong>Anysphere also states thatUltra users will have priority in experiencing the new features.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Anysphere CEO Michael Truell noted in a blog post thatThe Ultra subscription was made possible by the company's multi-year partnership agreement with an AI modeling provider.<\/strong>In the past few months, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind have also launched premium subscription services ranging from $100 to $250 per month for advanced users, aiming to provide heavier users with greater modeling capacity and increased cash flow.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Anthropic continues to optimize its Claude Code tool, which leverages its own popular AI models.<\/p>\n

Whether Anysphere can sustain its current high growth rate without clashing head-on with AI model providers is unclear.<\/strong>As the AI programming market continues to expand, so do competitive strategies. Anthropic, for example, recently drastically reduced Windsurf's direct access to Claude's AI models in an effort to weaken OpenAI, its biggest competitor.<\/p>\n
