In the interview, Anton predicts an AI era in which the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/en\/tag\/agi\" title=\"_OTHER ORGANISER\" target=\"_blank\" >AGI<\/a>\uff08<a href=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/en\/tag\/%e9%80%9a%e7%94%a8%e4%ba%ba%e5%b7%a5%e6%99%ba%e8%83%bd\" title=\"_Other Organiser\" target=\"_blank\" >General artificial intelligence<\/a>) and where the labor market will go.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-38322\" title=\"f82a6854j00syg1qs001id000u000gum\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/f82a6854j00syg1qs001id000u000gum.jpg\" alt=\"f82a6854j00syg1qs001id000u000gum\" width=\"1080\" height=\"606\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Anton said that AI has been evolving faster than imagined. In many fields, AI has outperformed the majority of humans while still managing to 'saturate' the benchmarks of some programs.<\/p>\n<p>In response, Anton made a bold prediction.<strong>AGI, which fully surpasses human intelligence, may be available in just 2-5 years.<\/strong>Moreover, a more powerful artificial superintelligence is not a pipe dream. Anton also says that if mankind does achieve AGI, it will be an absolutely fundamental turnaround in the economy.<\/p>\n<p>However, the birth of AGIs will be accompanied by an impact on human labor and productivity. Anton points out that AGIs can basically do anything that a human laborer does, and do it cheaply. But because of this, human wages or the value of the labor market will go down as they are 'replaced'.<\/p>\n<p>As for \"AI's impact on the human economy,\" Anton said, \"The actual impact is small at the moment, but in the next few years, AI will have a disruptive and huge impact on the economy.\"<\/p>\n<p>For the average person, Anton suggests the following<strong>\"Stay on top of what's going on in the AI space, and then keep updating the plans you've made accordingly.\"<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former interview with Harvard Business School, University of Virginia, Professor of Economics, AI Economist Anton Korinek.
