However, according to people familiar with the matter, the deal has not yet been finalized and is still subject to change.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-38943\" title=\"cd452ef8j00syypaq0011d000b400b4p\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/cd452ef8j00syypaq0011d000b400b4p.jpg\" alt=\"cd452ef8j00syypaq0011d000b400b4p\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The addition of PlayAI technology and people assets will further diversify Meta's AI pipeline.<strong>Especially when it comes to voice functionality in hardware and software such as AI assistants and smart glasses<\/strong>, boosting competitiveness with OpenAI, Google on this front.<\/p>\n<p>Negotiations with PlayAI are\u00a0<strong>Meta's AI \"buy, buy, dig, dig\" initiative<\/strong>One of the newest chapters in the company's history: just last month the company acquired nearly half of Scale AI for $14.3 billion (note: that's about RMB 102,491 million at current exchange rates) while taking its founder, Harvest S, with it; and more recently, news broke that Meta was poaching a number of researchers from OpenAI for a large sum of money.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On July 6, Bloomberg reported at the end of June that Meta was engaged in intensive negotiations with the AI Voice Cloning Company PlayAI to plan for the acquisition of the technology and part of the employees of the small start-up company.
