July 29 - Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates noted in an interview with CNN on Sunday, local time, that artificial intelligence (AI<\/a>) Technology is advancing much faster than he expected, especially in the areas of programming and deep research.<\/p>\n

Bill Gates<\/a>believes that AI will change the white- and blue-collar work environment, especially for college graduates, and finding a job will become more challenging. He mentions that AI may replace certain simple jobs, such as telemarketing or customer support, but it will be used more as an aid in areas where humans are most creative. Although this change may bring short-term discomfort, Gates believes that increased productivity will have a more positive impact, allowing more opportunities for people to do more valuable work.<\/p>\n

When it comes to artificial intelligence (AI) versus artificial general intelligence (AGI<\/a>Gates said that people have different definitions of the two concepts when it comes to the difference between the two. He believes that AGI will be realized when AI tools can do \"telemarketing or support work\" more cheaply and accurately than humans can.<\/p>\n

Gates also mentioned that he was surprised by the speed at which AI is evolving, especially with the addition of in-depth research capabilities. As an example, he said, \"I have the advantage that I can always ask some very smart people questions about physics. But now, I've started using the deep research feature to get answers, which I then send to my smart friends and ask them, 'Hey, is this the right answer?' And most of the time, they answer 'Oh yeah, you don't need my help at all'.\"<\/p>\n

In addition, Gates said he is working with Microsoft and OpenAI to ensure that AI tools can be scaled up for use in low-income countries to help them advance in areas such as health, education and agriculture.<\/p>\n

Embracing AI and keeping up with its evolution will be important.
