The petition page reads: \u201cFor many people, GPT-4o brought<strong>Unique, irreplaceable use experience<\/strong>The combination of our values and abilities is not subject to performance criteria.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a blog post in 2025, OpenAI stated that GPT-4o was concerned that the response was too glamorous and not very sincere\u3002<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI planned to get GPT-4o out last year and received a strong request from supporters to keep it. Subsequently, GPT-4 was extended for several months\u3002<\/p>\n<p>This petition was created by Sophie Witt in April 2025. Within two weeks of the release of OpenAI ' s latest retirement plan, the number of supporters reached 12,500 and continued to grow. On 2 February, Witt sent a letter in X calling on supporters to act collectively on OpenAI ' s decision and to discuss it around GPT-4o\u3002<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI also mentioned GPT-4o in January 30: A lot of user feedback last year<strong>Like the model's \"dialogue and warmth.\"<\/strong>I don't know. OpenAI notes that these feedbacks have influenced the development of GPT-51 and GPT-5.2\u3002<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI also states that the low usage of GPT-4o is one of the reasons for the decommissioning, and that it is now a matter of time<strong>ONLY 0.1% USERS<\/strong>The version is still being selected. The last time GPT-4o was retired, Altmann was drowned in Reddit's question-and-answer session by a large number of netizens demanding the \u201crestoration of GPT-4o\u201d\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Social media commentators and petitioners renewed their appeal.
