{"id":6401,"date":"2024-03-27T09:51:41","date_gmt":"2024-03-27T01:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/?p=6401"},"modified":"2024-03-27T09:51:41","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T01:51:41","slug":"c%e7%ab%afai%e5%ba%94%e7%94%a8top100%e6%8e%92%e8%a1%8c%e6%a6%9c%ef%bc%8cc%e7%ab%af%e7%94%a8%e6%88%b7%e9%83%bd%e6%84%bf%e6%84%8f%e7%94%a8ai%e5%b9%b2%e4%bb%80%e4%b9%88","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/en\/6401.html","title":{"rendered":"Top 100 C-end AI Applications Ranking: What Do C-end Users Want to Use AI For?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Preface<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since more than a year ago\u00a0<span class=\"wx_search_keyword_wrap\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/en\/tag\/chatgpt\" title=\"[View articles tagged with [ChatGPT]]\" target=\"_blank\" >ChatGPT<\/a><i class=\"wx_search_keyword\"><\/i><\/span>\u00a0Since generative AI was thrust into public consciousness, we\u2019ve been exposed to thousands of new consumer products infused with the magic of AI \u2014 from video generators to workflow hacks, from creative tools to virtual companions.<\/p>\n<p>Six months ago, we took a deep dive into network traffic data and found that<strong>Visits, duration, and growth<\/strong>Speed to<strong>Revenue<\/strong>For the most popular generative<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/en\/tag\/ai%e4%ba%a7%e5%93%81\" title=\"_OTHER ORGANISER\" target=\"_blank\" >AI Products<\/a><\/strong>The rankings were compiled and reveal how consumers actually use the technology.<\/p>\n<section>While some early \u201cwinners\u201d have attracted widespread attention\u2014i.e.\u00a0<strong>ChatGPT\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Midjourney<\/strong>\u2014 but new AI-native companies emerge every month, spurring a vibrant, competitive market.<\/section>\n<p>Now, six months later, we\u2019ve updated our analysis again and ranked the top 50 AI for the Web products according to data from SimilarWeb (as of February 2024). Our findings are surprising: compared to our initial report in September 2023, more than 40% companies on the list are new.<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6402\" title=\"640-148\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-148.png\" alt=\"640-148\" width=\"1080\" height=\"697\" \/><\/section>\n<p>However, unlike our original analysis\u2014in which we ranked companies based on web traffic first and then added mobile app data for those companies\u2014this time we ranked both web and mobile app traffic by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/en\/tag\/%e4%ba%ba%e5%b7%a5%e6%99%ba%e8%83%bd%e4%ba%a7%e5%93%81\" title=\"[Sees articles with labels]\" target=\"_blank\" >Artificial Intelligence Products<\/a>Divided into two separate lists.<\/p>\n<section>Similar to the web rankings, mobile apps are ranked based on monthly active users, according to Sensor Tower data (as of January 2024).<\/section>\n<section>This distinction allowed us to examine the entire universe of top AI mobile apps for the first time. There are clear differences in how consumers interact with Gen AI on the web versus on mobile, which we\u2019ll cover below.<\/section>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6403\" title=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640.webp\" alt=\"640\" width=\"1080\" height=\"683\" \/><\/section>\n<p>Beyond these rankings, however, the data also sheds light on the buzz surrounding new and expanding categories, artificial intelligence,<strong>invest<\/strong>and<strong>Participation Mode<\/strong>Here are some of our key takeaways:<\/p>\n<section><strong>01.<\/strong><strong>Progress rate: 22 new members in 6 months<\/strong><\/section>\n<p>Given ChatGPT\u2019s impressive early growth \u2014 it was already the 24th most visited website in the world in our analysis six months ago \u2014 we expect this groundbreaking chatbot to maintain its position at the top of the list. ChatGPT is also ahead here \u2014 but by a much smaller margin. In terms of monthly active users, ChatGPT is roughly the size of the second and third largest apps.\u00a0<strong>Microsoft Edge<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Photomath<\/strong>\u00a0For mobile products, the top five are<strong><span class=\"wx_search_keyword_wrap\">New Bing<i class=\"wx_search_keyword\"><\/i><\/span><\/strong>(now AI Copilot) and<strong>Photomath<\/strong>and AI Image Enhancer<strong><span class=\"wx_search_keyword_wrap\">Remini<i class=\"wx_search_keyword\"><\/i><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, there are five AI companies that are truly<strong>Cross-border<\/strong>&quot;, with both web products and mobile apps making the top 50: ChatGPT, Character.AI, chatbot aggregator Poe, and image editors Photoroom and Pixelcut.<\/p>\n<section><strong>02.<\/strong><strong>New categories appear: Music,<\/strong><strong>Productivity Tools<\/strong><\/section>\n<p>Six months ago, we noted that LLM-based general-purpose assistants like ChatGPT made up the majority of web traffic. In our updated analysis, we saw two new categories enter the mix:<strong>Music and Productivity<\/strong>(including tasks such as research, coding assistance, and document summarization).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Suno<\/strong>It's the only music company that's up so far. This tool generates original songs from text tips in the browser - including lyrics of various styles. Suno was originally a product restricted to Discord, similar to Midjourney, but in December 2023, a separate website and Copilot expansion were launched\u3002<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6406\" title=\"640-151\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-151.png\" alt=\"640-151\" width=\"1080\" height=\"541\" \/><\/section>\n<p>Several major consumer AI products today, such as Suno, started on Discord servers or still run primarily through Discord. The Discord platform provides a server (and community!) without the need for a full front-end product build. The true traffic of a Discord server is almost impossible to measure, but the network traffic to each server invite page is a proxy. On this metric, as of January 2024, there are 9 AI products or communities ranked in the top 100 by invite traffic, including\u00a0<strong>Midjourney tops the list<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6407\" title=\"640-152\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-152.png\" alt=\"640-152\" width=\"1080\" height=\"508\" \/><\/section>\n<p>The second notable new category on the list is Productivity. AI-native platforms can elevate the level of interaction people have with software, enabling them to delegate routine tasks and reduce the time spent on administrative overhead. The Productivity category includes seven companies in the ranking:<strong>Liner<\/strong>,<strong>Eightify<\/strong>,<strong>Phind<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>MaxAI<\/strong>,<strong>Blackbox AI<\/strong>,<strong>Otter.ai<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><span class=\"wx_search_keyword_wrap\">ChatPDF<i class=\"wx_search_keyword\"><\/i><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6408\" title=\"640-153\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-153.png\" alt=\"640-153\" width=\"1080\" height=\"899\" \/><\/section>\n<p>Through features like in-stream editing and summarization, these companies are focused on helping employees, freelancers, and SMB owners get their work done more efficiently. For example,<strong>Eightify<\/strong>\u00a0supply\u00a0<strong>Youtube<\/strong>\u00a0Video summary, while\u00a0<strong>Otter.ai\u00a0<\/strong>Real-time<strong>Recording meeting minutes and transcriptions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the seven productivity apps on the list are<strong>Six fully passed<\/strong>\u00a0We expect more AI productivity tools to work alongside the work users are already doing.<strong>flow<\/strong>&quot;Run without copying and pasting prompts and output between work and assistants like ChatGPT.<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6409\" title=\"640-154\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-154.png\" alt=\"640-154\" width=\"640\" height=\"478\" \/><\/section>\n<p>In the future, AI productivity companies may invent new end-to-end workflows built around the unique capabilities of AI. AI workflow products can help users identify areas where improvements can be made and then automatically make those improvements.<\/p>\n<section><strong>03.<\/strong><strong>AI companions are growing rapidly<\/strong><\/section>\n<p>Having an AI companion may seem niche, but the activity has become a staple of generative AI. Millions of people already\u2014<strong>Including myself<\/strong>\u2014 Already in a relationship with a chatbot. Web and mobile data foreshadow a coming societal shift: AI companionship is going mainstream.<\/p>\n<p>Six months ago, only two AI companion companies made the list of 50; in this updated analysis, eight are in web apps and two are in mobile.<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6410\" title=\"640-155\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-155.png\" alt=\"640-155\" width=\"640\" height=\"473\" \/><\/section>\n<p>Six of the eight network products claim to be<strong>Uncensored<\/strong>\u201d, which means users can have conversations or interactions with them that might be restricted on platforms like ChatGPT.<\/p>\n<p>Users primarily access these products via the mobile web, rather than desktop, even though almost none of them offer apps. On average, 751% of the traffic to the uncensored companion tools on the web list came from mobile devices.<\/p>\n<p>For companion products with mobile apps, engagement is exceptionally high. The most successful products in this category become a core part of their users\u2019 daily lives, becoming as commonplace as texting a friend (if not more common!).<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6411\" title=\"640-156\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-156.png\" alt=\"640-156\" width=\"1080\" height=\"584\" \/><\/section>\n<p>According to SensorTower, Character.AI attracts an average of 298 sessions per user per month, while Poly.AI averages 74 sessions per user.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6412\" title=\"640-157\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-157.png\" alt=\"640-157\" width=\"1080\" height=\"721\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re starting to see early signs of a wider range of companion applications beyond AI \u201cboyfriends\u201d and \u201cgirlfriends,\u201d including friendship, mentoring, entertainment, and, eventually, health care. In fact, early studies suggest that AI outperforms real doctors in diagnostic accuracy. Many companion products are multifaceted: In a recent study in Nature, the Replika chatbot reduced suicidal ideation among 3% users.<\/p>\n<p><strong>04.<\/strong><strong>The reasons behind the mobile vs web split<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>first<\/strong>, the categories of AI usage for mobile apps and web apps are very different. Typically, web products support more complex, multi-step workflow products around content generation and editing.<\/p>\n<p><mark data-headline=\"\" data-text=\"This doesn\u2019t mean sophisticated AI products can\u2019t be built on mobile. We\u2019re optimistic that AI will pave the way for higher quality photo and video editing mobile apps than ever before, for example.\" data-url=\"\"><\/mark><mark data-headline=\"\" data-text=\"This doesn\u2019t mean sophisticated AI products can\u2019t be built on mobile. We\u2019re optimistic that AI will pave the way for higher quality photo and video editing mobile apps than ever before, for example.\" data-url=\"\"><\/mark>This includes AI Voice Toolkit\u00a0<strong>ElevenLabs<\/strong>, AI Art Generator\u00a0<strong>Leonardo\u00a0<\/strong>and AI Demo Builder<strong>\u00a0Gamma\u00a0<\/strong>and other products, all of which rank in the top 20 of the web-based AI generation products.<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6413\" title=\"640-158\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-158.png\" alt=\"640-158\" width=\"1080\" height=\"697\" \/><\/section>\n<p><strong>Secondly<\/strong>, mobile applications are used in favour of general assistants, many of whose products mimic ChatGPT. When you look closely at the top mobile application list, you may notice that there are 10 companies with very good names ... similar to ChatGPT. This is partly due to the relatively slow pace at which ChatGPT is launching its own applications, which creates opportunities for imitators to quickly take advantage of App Store, especially<strong>In the case where they pay for advertising<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Among them, some mobile applications that imitate ChatGPT are called &quot;<strong>Wool Software<\/strong>\u201d. They trick users into believing they are providing access to ChatGPT premium models with similar titles, but in reality, charge for access to the same models that ChatGPT offers for free.<strong>in addition<\/strong>, these apps often change their names or descriptions, making it difficult for app stores to &quot;police&quot; this behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Other popular AI mobile app categories are tailored to the unique capabilities of mobile phones. There are seven dedicated avatar generation products in the app list; the many selfies saved on most people&#039;s phones can serve as ready-made training data. In addition, three top apps -<strong>Facemoji\u00a0<\/strong>(No. 2),<strong>Bobble<\/strong>\u00a0(No. 31) and\u00a0<strong>Genie\u00a0<\/strong>(No. 37) \u2013 is a mobile-specific keyboard that allows users to send texts with the help of AI.<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6414\" title=\"640-159\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-159.png\" alt=\"640-159\" width=\"1080\" height=\"898\" \/><\/section>\n<p><strong>also<\/strong>,<strong>Education Technology<\/strong>is another popular category on mobile devices, where users can scan homework problems with their phones (<strong>Photomath<\/strong>) or learn a language through real-time conversation (<strong>Elsa<\/strong>). Notably, while most of the top AI mobile apps are bootstrapped, meaning they have not raised outside funding, seven of the top AI mobile apps, according to PitchBook data, are\u00a0<strong>Edtech\u00a0<\/strong>Four of the applications raised more than $30 million.<\/p>\n<p><strong>05.<\/strong><strong>The pursuit of globalization<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cerebral Valley\u00a0<\/strong>San Francisco may be the epicenter of AI, but wildly popular products are being developed all over the world. This is especially true for mobile apps. While more than 30% of the top AI web products on the list come from the Bay Area, only 12% of mobile app developers are based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Likewise, while more than half of the top AI web products were developed in the United States, less than a third of mobile apps originated stateside.<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6415\" title=\"640-160\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-160.png\" alt=\"640-160\" width=\"1080\" height=\"714\" \/><\/section>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6416\" title=\"640-161\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-161.png\" alt=\"640-161\" width=\"776\" height=\"410\" \/><\/section>\n<p>Some mobile developers have already had multiple successes: Istanbul-based app studio Codeway, for example, created an AI photo animator<strong>Face Dance<\/strong>, Chatbot Application Chat&amp;Ask AI and AI Art Generator<strong>Wonder<\/strong>, all of which are on the list of top AI mobile apps. HubX, also based in Turkey, has developed<strong>\u00a0Nova\u00a0<\/strong>Chatbots,<strong>DaVinci\u00a0<\/strong>Art Generator and\u00a0<strong>PhotoApp\u00a0<\/strong>Enhancer.<\/p>\n<section><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6417\" title=\"640-162\" src=\"https:\/\/www.1ai.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/640-162.png\" alt=\"640-162\" width=\"640\" height=\"388\" \/><\/section>\n<p>These application studios often benefit from cross-product<strong>How to start the application<\/strong>,<strong>Attract traffic<\/strong>and profit from it<strong>Sharing expertise<\/strong>. Rather than raising money, some of them are focused on generating revenue as efficiently as possible.<span class=\"wx_text_underline\">Others are indeed taking the venture capital route\u2014<\/span><strong><span class=\"wx_text_underline\">Bending Spoons<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"wx_text_underline\">, the Milan-based tech company behind video editor Splice and photo enhancer Remini (No. 5 on the mobile apps list),<\/span><span class=\"wx_text_underline\">Recently announced $155 million in equity financing<\/span><span class=\"wx_text_underline\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s clear that a new generation of AI-native products and companies are developing faster than ever before, with increasing user engagement.
