It will evolve into a fully autonomous Web Agent: the user simply gives a request in the prompt input box, and the browser navigates itself to the corresponding URL for headless mode access (a mode with no buttons, tabs, address bar, or visual displays) and fulfills the user's needs.
Have the foundation for building Operator tools: according to the logs, comet adds features such as tag control, session memory, and browsing history management research, and does so natively.
As far as we know, comet was officially unveiled in late February this year, when Perplexity's official description stated that "comet will be based on Agentic", but no other details were revealed. Reports indicate that comet is expected to be released around mid-May.
