July 9 news, according to the "voice of the Chinese Academy of Sciences" public news, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Aquatic Biology using artificial intelligence image recognition technology, successfully developed a benthic animal intelligent identification system, realizing the benthic animals throughout the automated identification and detection. 1AI learned from the official introduction that benthic animals are an important part of freshwater ecosystems, and their diversity level can reflect the health of the water environment, which is an important indicator for water ecology monitoring. However, traditional identification methods based on morphology have many limitations. For example, the morphology of benthic fauna is complex, and the identification needs to examine the subtle features of the targets one by one. This leads to benthic...

June 11 news, 1AI from the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences WeChat public was informed that recently the joint team of the Institute's Neural Computing and Brain-Computer Interaction (NeuBCI) group and the Center of Excellence for Innovation in Brain Science and Intelligent Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences combined behavioral experiments and neuroimaging analysis to confirm for the first time that multimodal large language models (MLLMs) are able to spontaneously form objects that are highly similar to human conceptual representation system. This research not only opens up a new path for AI cognitive science, but also provides a theoretical framework for building AI systems with human-like cognitive structures. The research results are based on Human-...

April 7 news, Aliyun official article today announced that recently, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Tibetan Plateau Research Institute jointly with Aliyun released a large model of multimodal reasoning "Luoshu" of water energy grain. According to the introduction, "Luoshu" large model integrates the scientific model "SiYuan" (Hydro Trace) and a thousand questions inference model QwQ-32B and multimodal model Qwen2.5-VL, can be a specific region in different time scales of the The system can accurately analyze and predict the amount and source of water coming to a specific region at different time scales, thus helping to regulate the dynamic balance of water supply, power generation and food production demand in water resources management. Currently, the "Luoshu" ...

February 20 news, according to Xinhua News Agency reported today, Peking Union Medical College Hospital, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Automation jointly developed the first domestic rare disease field AI big model - "Peking Union Medical College・Taichu", has been open for patients to test the initial diagnosis of consulting and booking! The function has been opened for patients to test the initial consultation and appointment function. President of Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) Zhang Liyang introduced that the research and development of AI-assisted diagnostic and treatment tools for rare diseases has been a key direction of the team of rare disease experts for many years, and the development of "Concordia Taichu" is based on years of accumulation of China's knowledge base of rare diseases and genetic test data of the Chinese population, and it is the first AI model in the world in line with the characteristics of the Chinese population. It is the first international model that meets the characteristics of the Chinese population...

Oct. 14 (Bloomberg) -- An international team led by Professor Jian Ge at the Shanghai Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has developed a deep-learning algorithm that combines GPU phase-folding and a convolutional neural network, and discovered five ultra-short-period planets with diameters smaller than the Earth and orbital periods shorter than a day in the stellar photometric data released by Kepler in 2017. Four of them are the smallest planets ever found closest to their host stars, similar to the size of Mars. This is the first time that astronomers have used artificial intelligence to search for suspected signals and identify real ones in one go. The related research results were published...

On September 10, the Research Ethics Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) publicly released the "Integrity Reminder on Regulating the Use of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Scientific Research Activities" (hereinafter referred to as the "Integrity Reminder") for scientific and technological personnel and students of CAS. Officials of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said that in recent years, the rapid development and wide application of AI technology has brought new changes and innovations to scientific research, while also posing serious challenges to the existing practices that underpin scientific research integrity. For example, the use of AI algorithms to falsify data and generate deceptive research papers is highly likely to lead to new forms of paper ghostwriting, plagiarism and plagiarism, and manuscript washing and other academic...

According to Alibaba Cloud today, at the 2024 Big Data Expo on August 29, the Institute of Geochemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Alibaba Cloud jointly released the world's first "Lunar Science Multimodal Professional Big Model". The big model is built based on Alibaba Cloud's Tongyi series models. At present, the accuracy rate of lunar impact crater age and morphology has reached more than 80%. According to Alibaba Cloud, the lunar professional big model is based on the Tongyi series models such as vision, multimodality and natural language, combined with RAG retrieval enhancement and other technologies, and fine-tuned and trained in Alibaba Cloud Bailian exclusive version. At present, the lunar professional big model...
