China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) has launched a new homepage with new features such as AI enhanced search and AI academic research assistant.

China Knowledge Network (CNN)announced that a new version of the homepage will be available to users as the default homepage on July 18, 2024, along with a network-wide upgrade of the General Library platform.

It is reported that this revamp and upgrade aims to provide users with a new academic experience and improve the efficiency of using academic tools in the research process.

Here's a summary of the main updates.

1. Newly Revamped Home Page:The new home page has been updated visually and functionally, including updating the navigation of the product system, streamlining the content of the search box, providing customized functions for commonly used services, accessing academic hotspots, and displaying the latest products that are on the shelves or updated.
2. Upgrade of General Library Functions:The header and login process have been optimized, making the jump to core functions smoother. The new header includes database navigation, searching, publication source navigation, personalization, and other functions.CNKI, help, product update message alerts and personal/organizational logins.
3. My CNKI:Users can enjoy personalized literature management services, such as collecting literature, checking history, focusing on search form, thesis, journals, and authors by registering and logging into their personal accounts.
4. HTML Reading:After logging in with a personal account, users are able to use more personalized services such as notes, collections, recommendations, etc. to achieve one-stop academic literature reading.
5. KnowledgeNet AI Total Solution.
   • AI Enhanced Retrieval:Utilizing natural language processing and semantic understanding capabilities, it upgrades traditional keyword-based retrieval to semantic vector-based retrieval, providing summary summaries and knowledge graphs of retrieved topics.
   • AI Academic Research Assistant:: Streamline the process of knowledge retrieval and literature analysis for researchers through question-and-answer enhanced search, machine-assisted reading, and generative knowledge services.
