MicrosoftandSouth KoreaTelecommunications company KT Corp. announced the partnership in late September.Commitment to invest 2.4 trillion won over the next five years(currently about RMB 12,528 million) to boost Korea'sAI,cloud serviceand infrastructure development.
The parties plan to launch in the first half of 2025Customized AI Models Based on Microsoft's Multilingual GPT-4o, and utilize KT's datasets around Korean culture and industry. These models will be used for KT's internal and consumer-facing applications, such as customer service chatbots, and can also be used to build industry-specific AI solutions for B2B customers across industries.
In support of this initiative, KT Telecom will, in the first quarter of next year, establish aSubsidiary focused on AI transformationThe company provides consulting and design services to help organizations integrate AI technologies.
The partnership aims to boost KT's AI-transformation business revenue to 1.4 trillion won (currently around 7.308 billion yuan) in 2029, up from a projected 269 billion won (currently around 1.404 billion yuan) in 2025.
