Technology outlet mwpro published a blog post on Nov. 12 reporting that according to the Microsoft 365 update roadmap, theMicrosoftMid-December is planned for Copilot Introducing new control options.Allows users to control whether web search queries are sent to Microsoft Bing.
Users can disable or enable web search through a new control option that can be accessed from the "..." menu, IT House attached screenshots below:
If users disable web searching, they will be notified that Copilot's responses will not include the latest date from the web:
If an administrator disables web search in Copilot using the Optional Connection Experience or the new Allow Web Search in Copilot policy in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, the user control will remain disabled after this release and users will not be able to use it to enable web search.
