February 26, 2012 - Earlier this year in February, theOpenAI Launched an in-depth study (Deep Research) feature and promised it would be available to Plus users in about a month. Now, the company has kept that promise as promised. Starting today, the Deep Research feature is officially available to ChatGPT Plus, Team, Edu and Enterprise users. Previously, users were required to subscribe to a $200 per month (note: currently around Rs. 1,451) Pro plan to experience this feature.

Currently, Plus subscribers have access to 10 in-depth research queries per month. For Pro subscribers, OpenAI has increased the monthly query limit from 100 to 120. In addition, OpenAI has made several improvements to its deep research tools. chatGPT can now embed images in responses to provide richer insights. The system's understanding of document types has also been improved, which will help to better analyze documents.
Users can try out the feature by clicking on the Deep Research icon before sending a request. Depending on the complexity of the question, ChatGPT can take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes to generate an answer, and OpenAI says the Deep Research feature is currently "very compute-intensive," so free users may have to wait a while to experience it.
