OpenAI announced today that it has rolled out GPT-4.5 to ChatGPT Plus users earlier than expected.
According to the official introduction, GPT-4.5 is first open to ChatGPT Pro users, and will be extended to Plus and Team users from now on, and then to Enterprise and Edu users. In addition, the model will also be available on the Microsoft Azure AI Foundry platform along with Stability AI and Cohere's model.
According to The Verge, OpenAI plans to launch GPT-5 by the end of May, and the company is now phasing out the o3 model and integrating its features into GPT-5.
It is worth noting that the current price of GPT-4.5 is much higher than GPT-4o.
- On the input side, the GPT-4.5 costs $75 per million tokens (note: currently about Rs. 545), and the GPT-4o only $2.50 (currently about Rs. 18.2);
- On the output side, GPT-4.5 costs $150 per million tokens (currently about RMB 1094), while GPT-4o is only $10 (currently about RMB 73). This means that the input cost of GPT-4.5 is 30 times higher than that of GPT-4o, and the output cost is 15 times higher.
