The Atlantic reported on March 10 thatUS Governmentis moving forward with a program led by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) aimed at generative AI Reform of the civil service.
The core purpose of the program is toImproving the overall efficiency of government work by replacing manual labor with automation.. The General Services Administration (GSA) is currently testing an AI ChatbotsThe company is expected to cover more than 10,000 employees and manage more than $100 billion (note: currently about RMB 723,332 million) in contracts and services.
The AI tool, called "GSA Chat," has been tested with 1,500 GSA employees and is expected to be rolled out to all employees this Friday. Bots can assist employeesDrafting e-mails, writing codeand many other tasks.GSA says the robots will improve staff productivity, and in the future plans to expand them to other government departments, with the possibility ofby"AI.gov"in the name ofLaunch. The system currently offers Meta and Anthropic Licensed AI ModelsIn the future, functions such as file uploading may also be added to further enhance its intelligent processing capabilities.
Thomas Shedd, head of GSA's information technology division, noted that the government is moving forward with an "AI-first strategy" to streamline the size of the government and make it more efficient.
