March 31st.ChatGPT Recently launched AI ImageThe generation function has generated a great deal of interest, especially the "Ghibli-style" image generation, which is highly sought after by many netizens.

1AI notes that while it hasn't been officially announced, OpenAI has made ChatGPT, a native AI image generation feature, available to free users. openAI previously rolled out the native image generation feature to all ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Team users worldwide on March 26th.
However, the feature has also sparked controversy. Many fans of Studio Ghibli and admirers of Hayao Miyazaki believe that the behavior borders on plagiarism. According to PTI, a netizen who shared an old interview with Miyazaki on AI-generated animation said, "Since this awful stuff is catching on, we should see what Studio Ghibli founder Hayao Miyazaki has to say about machines creating art." In the interview clip, Miyazaki says, "I'm extremely disgusted. If you want to make creepy stuff, go for it. I would never use that technique in my work. I strongly believe that it is an insult to life."
It's worth noting that due to the feature's excessive heat, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman previously said on the X platform that the GPUs were "overheating" due to mass usage, stating, "It's fun to see people enjoying the images in ChatGPT, but our GPUs are 'melting down'. But our GPU is 'melting'. We're going to introduce some rate limiting for the time being while we try to be more efficient. Hopefully not for long!ChatGPT free version will soon get 3 image generation opportunities per day!. "
