However, there were some glaring breaks in their attempt, such as the use of a comma instead of a period for the total amount, and the numbers didn't add up correctly, but it's easy for a fraudster to quickly change that with photo editing software or a more precise cue word.
Obviously, the ease with which fake receipts can be generated presents a huge opportunity for fraud. It is easy to imagine that this technique could be used by unscrupulous individuals to "reimburse" completely fictitious expenses.
OpenAI spokesperson Téa Christiansen said that all of their images contain metadata that indicates they were generated by ChatGPT. Christiansen also said that OpenAI takes action when users violate the usage policy, and that they are always learning from real-world usage and feedback.
