Scott-Green has updated his LinkedIn profile to include his latest title as OpenAI's product manager, responsible for "building evaluation tools," according to 1AI's public profile. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but Context.ai plans to phase out its existing products, a move that shows OpenAI's strong commitment to improving AI performance evaluation.
Context.ai was founded in 2023 by former Google employees Henry Scott-Green and Alex Gamble. The company raised $3.5 million (note: $25.586 million at current exchange rates) in seed funding from GV and Theory Ventures shortly after its founding.
Its core product is to provide developers with visibility into the performance of AI models through analytics dashboards that help identify patterns in the model's response to user queries.
In an interview with TechCrunch in 2023, Scott-Green noted that the industry generally faces a "black box" problem -- developers have trouble understanding how users use models and getting an accurate picture of model performance. Context.ai's tools analyze model interactions, classify conversations, and flag patterns to help developers identify performance bottlenecks.
