Mark Gurman reports in the latest issue of Power On.appleThe company is still continuing to advance itsSmart glassesProject. The product, currently codenamed "N50," will incorporate Apple'sArtificial Intelligence Technologyand is expected to be brought to market at a more affordable price.

Apple's ultimate goal is to develop industry-leading augmented reality eyewear, but for now, it's still years away from bringing it to market as a consumer-grade product. In the meantime, Apple plans to launch a product similar to the smart glasses that Meta launched in partnership with Ray-Ban. the Meta Ray-Ban glasses are very popular, and incorporate a variety of technologies (albeit without a display) into a pair of glasses that aren't too bulky, including a camera, a microphone, an AI assistant, and speakers.
According to Gurman, Apple's smart glasses will follow a similar line of thinking, though it's far from ready. The device will transform the glasses into an Apple smart device capable of analyzing its surroundings and providing information to the wearer, but its capabilities are far from true augmented reality.
Previously Gurman had mentioned that Apple may not want the glasses to have photo capabilities due to privacy concerns, though this remains unconfirmed.
Additionally 1AI meant to mention that Gurman also mentioned that Apple is still working on AirPods with a camera, which will further push its visual intelligence technology in the new hardware. As previously reported, both products are expected to launch around 2027.
