May 9 News.The Hong Kong University of Science and TechnologyEstablished todayVon Neumann Institute, by integrating embodied intelligence, generative artificial intelligence (AI) and technologies such as advanced supercomputing to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and the development of new qualitative productivity.

Note: The Institute is named after John von Neumann, the renowned computer scientist and "Father of Computing," who pioneered the von Neumann Architecture, which has had a profound impact on current AI algorithms.
Mr. Paul Chan Mo-po, Financial Secretary of the HKSAR Government, said in his speech that the current HKSAR Government believes that AI has great potential and aims to integrate AI into various industries through the "AI+" strategy. The Von Neumann Institute brings together talents and resources from a wide range of fields, and it is hoped that it will become a platform for opening up new AI application scenarios and commercialization paths, and help Hong Kong's innovation ecosystem to evolve and AI technology to develop.
