May 16 - May 15, local time.USAThe Department of Commerce announced a partnership withUAESigned a historic technical cooperation agreement in Abu Dhabi to jointly build the AI Data CenterPark.

The data center is planned to cover 10 square miles (approximately 25.9 square kilometers) and, when completed, will be the largest AI infrastructure cluster outside of the United States.
According to the statement, UAE-based company G42 will collaborate on the construction of a comprehensive 5GW data center in Abu Dhabi, operated in partnership with a number of U.S.-based companies, which will provide low-latency services to nearly half of the global population within a 2,000-mile radius of the UAE.
Lennart Heim, an analyst at the research firm RAND Corporation, said the data center is larger than all other major AI infrastructures that can be seen to date, and is large enough to support 2.5 million NVIDIA B200 chip.
Previously, the UAE has invested in U.S. companies such as OpenAI and xAI through sovereign funds such as MGX and G42. In addition, Microsoft injected $1.5 billion into G42 last year (note: the current exchange rate is about RMB 10.812 billion). The UAE has said it wants to become a global leader in AI by 2031.
