G42,OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, SoftBank and Cisco announced on May 22 that they are working together to create "Stargate (US TV and film series)UAE" (Stargate UAE), the first international deployment of Stargate, OpenAI's artificial intelligence infrastructure platform.

According to 1AI, OpenAI is working with G42 to build a 1GW Stargate UAE cluster at the newly established UAE-U.S. AI Campus in Abu Dhabi as the first partner program under the "OpenAI for Countries" initiative, with G42 building, OpenAI and Oracle operating, Cisco providing zero-trust security and AI-ready connectivity, and NVIDIA providing zero-trust security and AI-ready connectivity. OpenAI is working with G42 to build a 1GW Stargate UAE cluster at the newly established UAE-U.S. AI Campus in Abu Dhabi, which will be built by G42 and operated by OpenAI and Oracle, with Cisco providing zero-trust security and AI-ready connectivity, and NVIDIA supplying the latest Grace Blackwell GB300 system.
The first of these 200-megawatt AI clusters is expected to be operational by 2026.OpenAI said that as part of the investment partnership, G42 plans to make a matching investment in AI infrastructure in the United States.
Meanwhile, OpenAI says it has already begun to engage with other countries around the world that are interested in building Stargates. Starting next week, Jason Kwon, OpenAI's chief strategy officer, will visit the Asia-Pacific region to meet with governments and potential private sector partners to explore opportunities for AI to build infrastructure and deliver AI services to local communities.
