According to 1AI, the Audio Overview feature is particularly suited for users who need to delve deeper into a particular topic, with the feature providing detailed audio answers. It is able to extract information from the first page of Google search results and consolidate it into an audio summary, with the interactive dialog format of two virtual hosts making the answers more engaging. In addition, users can adjust the volume and speed of the audio according to their needs, ranging from 0.25x to 2x. The audio overview also provides links to the web pages where the information comes from, making it easy for users to explore the content further.
It's worth noting that the audio overview was previously only available in Google NotebookLM. Google has expanded and upgraded this feature to make it more interactive in NotebookLM. Users can ask questions of the virtual presenter in real time, and a new "Explore in Depth" option has been added, allowing the AI to focus on specific topics for deeper analysis.
Currently, users who want to experience the audio overview feature in Google Search need to enable it through the Google Labs website.
