According to the introduction, Hailuo 02 is currently the world's only model that can do a highly complex scene similar to gymnastics, aiming to help the world's creators to more fully release the imagination, improve the quality of the video, reduce the threshold of creation, without adding too much cost burden to the creators.
The team persisted in exploring more efficient video generation modeling architectures, and eventually came up with the core architecture behind Hailuo 02 -- theNoise-aware Compute Redistribution (NCR). More specifically, the core idea of this new architecture is as follows:
MiniMax says that the new architecture makes it 2.5 times more efficient to train and reason with the same parameter magnitude. Thus, without increasing the cost of use for creators, a larger parameter scale is used, which allows for a better expressive model; again, taking into account a certain amount of room for inference optimization. In the end, the total number of parameters in the model was scaled up to 3 times that of the previous version of the model.
The larger number of total parameters and higher training efficiency meant that we could fit more data, and in the end MiniMax scaled up to four times the amount of data from the previous version, while the quality and diversity of the data improved significantly.
MiniMax says that the new model responds in full to some fairly complex commands, allowing for better feedback on carefully written prompts. Plus, thanks to the efficient new architecture, creators can even generate native 1080p video at a relatively affordable price.
The developers asked users to test an early version of the model at the Artificial Analysis Video Arena, ranked second in the world.
MiniMax says the Hailuo 02 is currently available in three versions: 768p-6s, 768p-10s, and 1080p-6s.
Thanks to the architectural innovations mentioned above, its price has a certain advantage over both domestic and overseas manufacturers as well as startups.
MiniMax says that Hailuo 02 is a new starting point and will continue to be updated more quickly in the following areas:
