Previously, users who wanted to generate speech samples using ElevenLabs' AI speech library had to rely on its web app. Now, with the launch of the mobile app, users can generate voice clips on their mobile devices anytime, anywhere. To use the app, users simply type or paste text and select the appropriate voice model to generate an audio clip, and ElevenLabs' free package provides users with approximately 10 minutes of audio generation time. Additionally, users can choose different models as needed to balance cost and sound quality, and credits are shared between the web and mobile versions of the app.
1AI notes that ElevenLabs' mobile app also taps into its latest v3 alpha text-to-speech model, which allows users to control the emotional expression of speech through tags.
The mobile app launch is another important step for ElevenLabs in the consumer app space. Last year, the company launched the Reader app, which allows users to listen to articles, blogs, PDFs and eBooks on the go. Earlier this year, ElevenLabs also opened up the Reader app to publishers to distribute audiobooks.
Looking ahead, ElevenLabs plans to introduce more new features in its mobile apps, including speech-to-text capabilities and conversational AI tools. Additionally, the company plans to integrate MCP technology-based experiences, such as 11.ai, into the app.
