A few days ago, University of Virginia economics professor and AI economist Anton Korinek Interviewed by Harvard Business School a few days ago. In the interview, Anton predicts an AI era in which theAGI（General artificial intelligence) and where the labor market will go.
Anton said that AI has been evolving faster than imagined. In many fields, AI has outperformed the majority of humans while still managing to 'saturate' the benchmarks of some programs.
In response, Anton made a bold prediction.AGI, which fully surpasses human intelligence, may be available in just 2-5 years.Moreover, a more powerful artificial superintelligence is not a pipe dream. Anton also says that if mankind does achieve AGI, it will be an absolutely fundamental turnaround in the economy.
However, the birth of AGIs will be accompanied by an impact on human labor and productivity. Anton points out that AGIs can basically do anything that a human laborer does, and do it cheaply. But because of this, human wages or the value of the labor market will go down as they are 'replaced'.
As for "AI's impact on the human economy," Anton said, "The actual impact is small at the moment, but in the next few years, AI will have a disruptive and huge impact on the economy."
