July 12 News.OpenAI CEO Sam Altman (Sam Altman) tweeted today (July 12) on the X platform that, in order to further test model securitywill delay the release of its firstOpen Source AI Models.

OpenAI's first open-source AI model was delayed 1 time last month, and it was originally planned to release the model next week, but Altman said he chose to delay it again for further security testing, but did not announce a new release point.
1AI translates the Oltman tweet as follows:
- We had planned to release our open source weighting model next week.
- But now we've decided to extend: we need more time to roll out security testing and review high-risk content, and it's uncertain how long that will take.
- While we strongly believe that the community will create great things with this model, once we open up the weights, the follow-through is covered. This is a new endeavor for us and we want to polish it to the best of our ability.
- Sorry for the bad news; we're working very hard to get the model off the ground.
