Users can add up to 20 people to the group by inviting links, and ChatGPT selects whether to respond according to context in the group conversations and supports face reactions and personalization settings。
OpenAI states that group conversations are completely separate from individual conversations and that user's personal memories are not shared or recorded in group conversations. The function also provides additional security measures for users under 18 years of age, and parents can close the group by control options。
Technically, the group sessions are supported by GPT & 5.1 Auto, which is able to respond by automatically selecting the most appropriate model on the basis of a reminder. The function covers search, image generation, uploading of files and voice input, and the response frequency limit only applies to ChatGPT responses, without prejudice to the exchange of information between users。
OpenAI stressed that the pilot was the first step towards sharing collaborative space and that the company would decide on the scope of subsequent expansion based on early user feedback。
