NVIDIA's Jen-Hsun Huang refutes "AI threat theory": Programming may be obsolete, but jobs don't need to panic

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei recently warned that AI has the potential to wipe out up to half of all entry-level white-collar jobs, and that Generation Z will face an unprecedented jobs crisis. However, NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang doesn't agree. At the VivaTech 2025 conference in Paris, he directly contradicted Amodei's prediction that AI would eliminate a large number of entry-level white-collar jobs, Business Insider reported on November 11th. Jen-Hsun Huang said he disagreed with almost anything Amodei said, "On the one hand, he thinks AI is very scary, and on the other hand, he thinks they're the only ones who should be doing this."
Jen-Hsun Huang offered a more holistic view of how AI affects employment. He said that if the development of AI is desired to be both safe and responsible, it should be done in an open environment. I don't think AI is that expensive," he emphasized, "AI is going to change everyone's job, and it's already changed mine. Jen-Hsun Huang also predicted that with the rapid popularization of AI, the profession of programming may gradually disappear. As a result, he suggests that young people look to fields with more long-term prospects, such as biology, education, manufacturing, and agriculture.
