August 3 news, according to foreign media Wccftech reported, Stack Overflow launched a survey of 49,000 professional developers, the purpose is to understand the degree of penetration of AI in programming work. As the big language model continues to change the way code is written and debugged, Stack Overflow, once the first choice of programmers, is facing an impact. The report shows that four out of five developers are relying on AI tools for their work. As workflows become more and more dependent on AI tools, many are beginning to model...

June 20, 2011 - Cloudsmith released a report on June 18th, pointing out that the amount of code generated by AI has skyrocketed, but that manual code reviews have not been able to keep up. 1AI cites the report, which states that among developers using AI, 421 TP3T of code is generated by AI, with 16.61 TP3T developers relying on AI to contribute "most" of their code, and 3.61 TP3T of their code being entirely machine-generated. This trend is confirmed by the GitHub 2024 survey: more than 97% of code in the US, Brazil, Germany, and India was generated by AI, of which 16.6% was generated by AI, and 3.6% was generated entirely by machines.

At the GitHub Universe conference, GitHub announced a major update to the highly anticipated GitHub Copilot, an intelligent code assistant that will be coming to Windows Terminal and Xcode development environments. First up, GitHub Copilot is coming to Windows Terminal, and by combining it with the Terminal Chat feature in the Windows Terminal Canary release, developers can get information from Copi...

Google released its State of DevOps 2024 report on October 23rd, stating that more than 75% developers and IT professionals rely on Artificial Intelligence (AI) for at least 1 daily professional task. The DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) team at Google Cloud surveyed nearly 3,000 technology professionals around the world, indicating that more and more are using AI technologies. Citing the press release, the following data from the report is attached: 76% of respondents said they rely on AI to complete...

Apple recently released the first developer beta of iOS 18.2, which adds a number of new Apple Intelligence features. These features include emoji generation using Genmoji, image generation using Image Playground, more AI-powered writing features, integration with ChatGPT, Visual Intelligence for searching using the camera on the iPhone16 phone, and more. Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI has officially released its application programming interface (API), which allows developers to integrate Grok into other applications. Musk made the announcement on Monday, posting a link to the interface on the xAI website. Previously, Musk had confirmed plans to provide an API for Grok in August and open-sourced the software's weights in March. To view and use the API, users must log into their xAI account and select "Request Ac...

French AI startup Mistral AI has launched a new free package that lets developers fine-tune and build test applications using the startup's AI models, the company announced in a blog post on Tuesday. The startup has also dramatically slashed the price for developers to access its AI models via API endpoints and added image processing capabilities to its free consumer AI chatbot, Le Chat. Mistral has launched a free package through its API services platform, la Plateforme, which allows developers to experiment without cost, review...

OpenAI has introduced a new feature, Structured Outputs, which aims to make the output generated by the model strictly follow the JSON schema provided by the developer. At last year's DevDay, OpenAI first introduced JSON Schema, which provides an important foundation for developers to build reliable applications. Although JSON Schema improves the reliability of models generating valid JSON outputs, it does not ensure that the model's response conforms to a specific schema. Today's Structured Outputs feature…

Apple has pushed iOS18.1 and iPadOS18.1 developer preview Beta updates to iPhone and iPad users. The most important new feature is the preview of Apple Intelligence, which means that Apple Intelligence will be available to users using iOS18.1 and macOS Sequoia15.1. However, some features such as more advanced Siri are not available yet. Only Macs and iPads equipped with M1 chips or higher, or iP…

According to a global study released by cloud security company Checkmarx, although 15% of companies explicitly prohibit the use of AI programming tools, almost all development teams (99%) are still using these tools. This phenomenon reflects the difficulty of controlling the use of generative AI in the actual development process. The study found that only 29% of companies have established any form of governance system for generative AI tools. 70% of companies do not have a central strategy, and procurement decisions by various departments are often ad hoc and lack unified management. As more and more developers use AI programming tools, security issues...

While the news of Llama 3.1 open source is still ringing in our ears, OpenAI is here to steal the spotlight again. From now on, 2 million training tokens per day will be used to fine-tune the model for free until September 23. This is not only a generous contribution to developers, but also a bold push for the advancement of AI technology. The advent of GPT-4o mini has excited countless developers. It ranks first with GPT-4o in the LMSYS ranking of the large model arena. It has powerful performance and is only 1/20 of the price of GPT-4o. This move by OpenAI is undoubtedly a major move in the field of AI…

According to Stack Overflow's latest 2024 Developer Survey, feedback from more than 65,000 developers worldwide shows that although the use of generative AI in the software development industry continues to rise, developers' trust in this technology has dropped significantly. The report pointed out that in 2024, the proportion of developers using AI tools has risen to 76%, while the favorability of AI has dropped from 77% last year to 72%. Source Note: The image is generated by AI, and the image licensing service provider Midjourney's survey shows that most developers are not worried about...
