March 4, 2011 - AI modeling firms, touted as one of OpenAI's most important competitors Anthropic today announced the completion of a US$3.5 billion (note: currently approximately RMB 25.511 billion) Series E transaction.FinancingThe company's post-investment valuation rose to $61.5 billion (currently around RMB 448.257 billion).
Anthropic's round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.Participants include Cisco, Salesforce's investment arm.
Anthropic indicates the adoption ofThe funding round will advance the development of its next-generation AI systems, expanding its computing power, deepening its research in mechanism interpretability and alignment, and accelerating its international expansion.
The venture plans to build on Claude 3.7 Sonnet in the coming months to further enhance the programming capabilities of large models; and to focus on developing AI collaborator systems that can work with human teams on complex projects, synthesize cross-domain information, and achieve great impact.
