April 12, 2011 - Tech media outlet Android Authority published a blog post yesterday (April 11) reporting thatGooglePlanned Releases Circle Screen Function,Supports users to circle part of the screen to realize precise search.

Google recently posted a clip on Instagram showing off the Gemini The video of the screen sharing feature accidentally reveals an undisclosed "Circle Screen (DF)" option. Presumably, "DF" stands for "DogFood," the version used by internal Google employees to test unreleased features.
The discovery has raised concerns that "Circle Screen" could be similar to the Circle to Search feature on Android flagships, bringing a more intuitive experience to the Gemini, which triggers Google searches by circling the screen, dramatically improving the efficiency of Circle to Search
The "Circle Screen" feature is expected to allow users to circle a specific area of the screen as a context for searching, thus focusing on an object rather than the entire screen.
Gemini's current "Ask about screen" feature attaches a screenshot of the entire screen as a background to the search, while "Circle Screen" promises a more precise interaction.
It's worth noting that Google products often have overlapping functionality, and Circle to Search and possibly "Circle Screen" may co-exist or be merged due to similarity in functionality. Currently, "Circle Screen" is only available in an internal beta version, and has yet to find its way into the public Google Apps.
