AI Model 4o → o3: OpenAI Upgrades Operator Intelligence Body for More Stable and Accurate Browser Interaction

May 24, 2012 - Technology media outlet bleepingcomputer published a blog post today (May 24) reporting that OpenAI upgrade Operator Agent,applied AI ModelsUpgrading from 4o to o3 models dramatically improves reasoning.

The Operator intelligences previously used the GPT-4o model, which was only capable of performing basic automation tasks; after upgrading to the o3 model, the OpenAI company said, theSignificantly improved inference capabilities make Operator more stable and accurate when interacting with browsers.

OpenAI says, "Operator now completes tasks more consistently and accurately, with a significantly higher overall success rate. At the same time, its responses are clearer, more detailed and structured."

Note: Operator Agent is not new and since its launch in January 2025, it has served to automate web tasks such as form filling and product ordering. However, this feature is currently only available to those subscribing to the $200 Pro or Enterprise packages.

OpenAI is testing the new approach internally in the hopes of making Operator a "really useful tool".
