May 24 - The Financial Times published a blog post today (May 24) reporting thatOracle(Oracle) plans to spend about $40 billion on NVIDIA's high-performance computer chip, the GB200.Assist OpenAI Construction of a brand new giant in Abilene, Texas, USAData Center.

Note: The Abilene data center can be considered an OpenAI "Stargate (US TV and film series)"(Stargate), the starting point for a project that is expected to include eight buildings, be fully operational by mid-2026, and provide 1.2 GW of electricity upon completion.The goal is to become the world's largest data center.
Oracle has agreed to lease the site for 15 years, and in addition will purchase about 400,000 of NVIDIA's latest "superchip", the GB200, to train and run AI systems, and lease computing power to OpenAI, the news said.
Crusoe and Blue Owl Capital, the owners of the Abilene project, raised $15 billion through debt and equity financing, with JPMorgan Chase providing a $9.6 billion loan (including a $7.1 billion loan announced this week), and Crusoe and Blue Owl also putting up about $5 billion in cash each.
