May 28, 2011 - According to Axios, theMeta The company is reorganizing its Artificial Intelligence (AI) division by splitting it into two new teams -- the AI Product team and the AGI Foundations team. The reorganization does not appear to involve layoffs.

The AI product team will reportedly focus on consumer-facing projects, including AI features in Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, as well as Meta's newly launched standalone AI app.
The AGI Foundations team will be looking at more macro-level research and development directions, such as optimizing its Llama model.
