According to Bloomberg News,Meta CEO Zuckerberg will be "Acquisition'Claws' reach out to AI video generation startups Runway AI - Meta discussed with Runway the possibility of acquiring the latter.
Sources familiar with the matter said the plan is now on hold, and the deal has not yet reached the stage of a formal offer, nor has it discussed the specific amount of the acquisition. Runway was reportedly valued at more than $3 billion earlier this year.
Recently, Meta was revealed to have offered acquisition talks to a number of AI companies. According to previous news, Zuckerberg was dissatisfied with the performance of AI under Meta, so he chose to form a team of experts called "superintelligence" (superintelligence) to realize AGI (general artificial intelligence).
Among other things, Meta acquired a non-voting stake in Scale AI 49%, an AI data labeling startup founded by Alexandr Wang, for $14.3 billion.
