Yesterday, the former CTO of OpenAI Mira Murati published an article announcing its startup Thinking Machines Lab (TML) Update:

TML has now raised $2 billion in funding led by venture capital firm a16z, with participation from NVIDIA, AMD, Accel, ServiceNow and others;
TML is building a multimodal AI that is able to interact naturally with the user, with the world, and match multiple parties through a multimodal fusion of dialog, vision, and collaboration.
Mira reveals that TML's first product will be announced in the coming months, and that the product also includes a majorOpen Sourcecomponents that can help researchers and startups develop customized models.
According to a June report from The Information, TML is currently valued at over $10 billion without any products in the pipeline.
Meanwhile, according to the report, TML is currently developing customized AI for the enterprise and is also planning a product for the consumer market - a chat AI bot similar to OpenAI ChatGPT.
