Masayoshi Son estimates that an average of 1,000 AI agents would need to be deployed to fully replace a human employee, and the reason behind this conversion standard is that "human employees have complex thought processes," while AI agents need to perform in concert and work in a distributed manner in order to achieve equivalent output.
Masayoshi Son's vision for the future is for AI Agents to be 'online all year round, all day long', operating autonomously and replacing a large number of existing human processes. He emphasized that this is not only the end of coders, but also the beginning of automation of the entire organizational structure.
If each AI Agent costs about 40 yen per month to operate (equivalent to about 0.23 euros), the total cost for 1,000 Agents would be only 230 euros per person per month, far less than the salary expenses traditionally associated with hiring a human employee, according to the company's estimates. He is not concerned about the current "illusion" problem of AI Agents, considering it a "temporary problem". He is more concerned about how to build the infrastructure to support the operation of this AI community, including the software that creates and manages the massive number of agents, the operating system, and the data centers and power generation facilities that keep them running.
