In addition, SoftBank has committed to investing $15 billion in Stargate, according to Reuters. Stargate is a joint venture between Oracle, OpenAI and SoftBank that plans to invest up to $500 billion to help the U.S. stay ahead of competitors like China in the global race for artificial intelligence. The joint venture was announced at the White House in January by President Donald Trump, SoftBank's Masayoshi Son, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison.
