July 31 - Technology media outlet NeoWin published a blog post yesterday, July 30, reporting thatMicrosoftIt is planned that the Copilot The "Smart" mode is introduced in the program, which does not require the user to manually switch between the two modes, and will automatically adjust the speed and depth of thinking according to the task situation.

Note: Copilot currently offers the following 3 modes:
- Quick Response: The response time is about 2~3 seconds, which can quickly answer users' daily questions;
- Think deeper: reaction times of 30 seconds or less are mainly suited to more complex tasks;
- Contemplative Research: Provides users with a detailed reference report with a response time of 10 minutes or less. Similar to ChatGPT's in-depth research feature, it can efficiently accomplish complex multi-step research tasks that would normally take hours to complete.
For the average user, it was previously necessary to manually switch between different modes based on the usage scenario. According to the latest screenshots, Microsoft plans to introduce a "Smart" mode for Copilot, which will dynamically switch between different modes based on tasks.
The outlet noted that the feature looks relatively simple, but may be associated with OpenAI's upcoming GPT-5 model, which automatically adjusts the thinking time according to the task.
