ChatGPT Go is designed for Indian users who want to access ChatGPT's premium features at a more affordable price, OpenAI said in a statement. Currently, ChatGPT's top-tier subscription plan in India, ChatGPT Pro, is priced at Rs. 19,900 (roughly Rs. 1,636 at current exchange rates) per month, while the mid-range plan, ChatGPT Plus, is priced at Rs. 1,999 (roughly Rs. 164.3 at current exchange rates) per month.
Earlier this year, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman met with India's Information Technology Minister and discussed development plans to create a low-cost AI ecosystem. Altman also recently said that India is expected to soon surpass the U.S. as the largest market for OpenAI users.
