Sept. 1 (Bloomberg) -- According toBeijingOfficials from the city's education commission said that starting in the fall semester of 2025, the city's elementary and middle schools are carrying outgeneral knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI)educateIn order to achieve universal coverage for primary and secondary school students, no less than eight hours of instruction are required per school year.

1AI learned from the official presentation thatThe Artificial Intelligence Program aims to improve students' overall artificial intelligence literacyThe curriculum is designed to provide all students with basic content that everyone must learn, everyone can learn and everyone is willing to learn. The curriculum includes three aspects: AI awareness and thinking ability, AI application and innovation ability, and AI ethics and social responsibility, helping students to go from "basic understanding of AI" to "rational use of AI" to "innovative application of AI", and practicing innovative thinking and problem solving ability in the practice of AI projects. "Innovative Application of Artificial Intelligence", and practice innovative thinking and problem solving ability in the practice of AI projects. Different teaching objectives will be set for each section.
Primary level
- Through the experiential program, we will gain an initial understanding of the basic concepts and characteristics of artificial intelligence, and perceive the far-reaching impact of artificial intelligence technology on learning and life.Stimulate students' curiosity and enthusiasm for exploration of AI technology at the enlightenment stage, and try to use simple AI tools to accomplish creative expression and problem solving in human-computer collaboration. Establish a correct ethical concept of AI in the enlightenment stage, build a basic knowledge of privacy protection and digital identity, and cultivate an awareness of the rational use of AI technology, so as to lay a foundation for subsequent learning.
junior high school
- Cognitive-based courses to refine students' systematic knowledge of AI technology and develop advanced practical skills and ethical awareness. To develop an initial understanding of data acquisition, model training and intelligent system development through hands-on experience of the AI model training process. Possess basic human-computer interaction skills, be able to use generative tools to complete content creation, and recognize the boundaries and risks of technology application. Through typical scene exploration and comprehensive practical application, lay the foundation of knowledge, ability and values for adapting to the development of an intelligent society.
senior secondary level
- Focusing on comprehensive and practical courses, the program comprehensively cultivates AI literacy with the ability to use technology and innovation.Familiar with data processing and labeling, principles of machine learning algorithms and introductory knowledge of deep learning, with some practical ability to develop intelligent systems. Use generative artificial intelligence to assist in accomplishing integrated learning tasks. Enhance the creative ability to comprehensively apply AI technology to solve practical problems through interdisciplinary project practice. Think deeply about the relationship between technological innovation, social responsibility, and ethical safety in complex ethical situations. Lay a solid foundation for adapting to the future development of an intelligent society.
According to the requirements of the National Curriculum Program and curriculum standards, AI education-related courses need to be fully offered.Schools may set up the AI curriculum independently or integrate it with the curriculum of information technology (IT), general technology, science, integrated practical activities, labor, etc., focusing on integrated design and preventing duplication and crossover.
