December 11th message, as AI develops from chat robots to systems that can perform operations, Linux FoundationA NEW ORGANIZATION IS BEING LAUNCHED TO WORK TO PREVENT AI INTELLIGENTS FROM DIVIDING INTO A BUNCH OF INCOMPATIBLE, CLOSED PRODUCTS。

According to TechCrunch, the organization is namedAAIFas with AI AgentThe relevant open-source project is neutral. AAIF was launched with donor support from Anthropic, Block and OpenAI。
- Anthropic donated its MCP (Note: Model Context Protocol), a standard way to connect models and smarts to tools and data
- Block contributed to the Goose Open Source Smart Framework
- OpenAI brings AGENTS.md, a simple command file that the developer can add to the repository to tell how the AI coding tool works。
THE THREE PROJECTS DONATED ARE THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF AI SMARTS. OTHER AAIF MEMBERS INCLUDE:Amazon AWS, Bloomberg, Cloudflare and Google.
In OpenAI Engineer Nick Cooper, it appears that the protocol is essentially a shared language that allows different intelligents and systems to work together without having to re-engineer integration from scratch。
Jim Zemlin, Executive Director of the Linux Foundation, stated more bluntly during the discussion about the project's launch:AAIF WAS SET UP TO AVOID THE FUTURE OF A "CLOSED WALL"-STYLE PROPRIETARY STACKAmong them, tool connectivity, smart body behaviour and organization will be monopolized by a few platforms。
AAIF'S STRUCTURE IS FUNDED THROUGH A “DIRECTED FUND” AND IT'S A “DIRECTED FUND”It means that major companies can contribute money through membership feesI don't know. According to Zemlin of the Linux Foundation, however, funding does not amount to control: the project road map was set by the Technical Steering Committee, and no member could unilaterally decide on the direction of development。
